Innovation at Civil Society Academy
We champion and advocate for a just and equal world, and spend all our time harnessing the superpower abilities of social pioneers, innovators and civil society leaders to fast track radical system transformation. Being a fast growing social start-up ourselves initiated by Welthungerhilfe in 2014, we know the transformative power of ideas and what it takes to bring them to life. Over the years we have also developed a strong reputation for strengthening and deepening local participative social innovation processes and championing the role of the third sector in radical system transformation discourses.
As an American who traveled to Uganda to launch a new program there, I became invested in the local community. I LOVE this idea because it allows the local people to tell their own stories with an authentic voice, ensuring that the truth comes through. Congrats!
Great and powerful concept Jonathan and Vijay. Putting beneficiary communities at the forefront and empowering them to lead in development initiatives within their locality is a catalyst to sustainable development in Uganda. I'm in total support of the given concept. Congratulations
As a ugandan this is a great ideal for rural communities in uganda who have no access to media.Great job Jonathan and Vijay.
Ownership breeds accountability.once the community owns their own space then they will not only have a voice but also the power to defen. so yes, as a Ugandan and a media personality i believe this concept is on point. Bravo Jonathan and Vijay
People in rural areas go through alot in silence and due to poverty striking such areas it makes it even harder for them to have a voice. This initiative will be a platform for them to be heard and helped... I stand with you on this, a big thanks to Jonathan and Vijay✊✊
It's so incredibly important to be able to give local actors access to a platform in order to share their voices. Excellent work, Jonathan!!
Powerful concept! In times of modern technologies we should never forget the traditional "old" techniques: radio as one of the most important media to deliver messages.
It is always amazing to be given a chance to voice your problems and challenges. And even better to know your voice will be heard. And your concept Jonathan gives local people to have the issues that affect them exposed and given the needed attention. I find this brilliant because of the authenticity of the reports given since they are given by the very people that are affected. It is always harder for an external source to understand the dynamics of a situation since they can't put themselves in the shoes of the locals. Thanks for the good work you are doing to reach the communities and give them this opportunity to be heard.
Thank you Jonathan and Vijay for the important work you are doing to elevate and amplify the voices of those often unheard in our global communities.
I am excited about this work and thinking. It will not only assist communities to amplify their issues but will also provide journalist with an opportunity to provide the right information to communities, bridge the information gap and also avoid speculations!!
I support this idea. It is authentic since we get to hear the voices and experiences of the people from the community from their angle and not the journalist's angle. This enables effective oriented solutions addressing the real issues as they ought to be handled. Congratulations Team: Jonathan and Vijay
As I radio journalist myself, I recognize the value of this project in bringing important local issues to light from a community perspective, which allows communities to hold their government accountable and remind them of community priorities. With its widespread penetration and no requirement for internet or literacy, radio is a democratizing medium that people from any background can benefit from. Congratulations Jonathan and Vijay!!
I strongly recognise the value of this project, as it reaches the grassroot people equiping them with the right awareness needed to make important decisions. I strongly support it. Thank Jonathan and team.
The project looks at harnessing the one thing that every society should harness - data and information. when implemented it would inform smarter , participatory and timely decision making and eliminate one of the biggest hurdles in addressing community progress - the lack of reliable and participatory data . I look at the project like the development of an internet of community thought leadership . When implemented it wouldn’t just be game changer , it would be earth moving on how we make decisions that affect communities.
This is a unique and very good concept, as a ugandan i understand the loopholes in ugandan communication especially in rural areas. I think this concept will help to deal with those issues but also to make sure that Ugandans nomatter the setting that they receive fasthand information. I am so happy for the concept
Looking at this concept gives me hope to continuously front community led approaches. The use of community reporters in data collection is more organic and relational since they are abreast with the community issues. I'm excited about the participatory score card where community identifies the service delivery issues by a score and designs culturally appropriate solutions. Lastly radio when combined with digital technologies can help get results to scale. Thank you Jonathan and Vijay
Great idea. Involving community in social decisions is the best way to govern. Radio is still the best way to get to majority of the population in Uganda. Way to go team!
This idea is so brilliant given the fact that it’s only through proper communication that projects and work gets done through sensitizing the community.
voice of the people in especially rural areas is paramount to find ways of fighting poverty. Therefore I find the idea great to make sure all communities are involved to see communication getting better.
This is fantastic concept!!!!
