Advocacy: Empower People to Influence Policy Makers

Advocacy originates from the word advocare, ‘call to one's aid’ or to speak out on behalf of someone. It is one of the most powerful ways in which mission-driven organizations can create large scale social change. When advocacy is successful, there can be far greater impact than through direct service delivery. Advocacy work can be “large scale”, advocating for governments to change policies, or “smaller-scale”, advocating for community members to change behavior.

The Training Course:

Are you passionate about fighting inequality and ensuring social justice? Or are you an advocate for the rights of women, children, refugees, and other vulnerable groups? If the answer is “yes” then this course is for you. The training module is an introduction to advocacy work. It will prepare you to take on an influential advocacy role on any issue that is, connect your advocacy work to the problem you are solving.  It will help in building basic skills in advocacy and give confidence to those who are embarking on advocacy efforts. You will get familiar with` successful advocacy tools, tactics, and strategies.

The course is designed for everyone working in civil society organizations who wants to learn the foundations of advocacy and build skills for designing advocacy campaigns.
