Join us for this 4-day training. Together we will reflect on social entrepreneurship and practically develop your social start-up ideas. Using powerful processes, such as design thinking and business modelling, we take you through the phases of a social start-up: from ideation to concept, from piloting to developing a scalable and sustainable business model.

Fees include training, materials, lunch and coffee. Training is not residential.

Joachim Schwarz

Joachim started his career with the UN before shifting to civil society. In Welthungerhilfe, he worked in leading positions in Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and as Regional Director for South Asia. He now works full-time for the CSA. His roles include facilitation, course coordination, training design, outreach Africa, as well as mentoring and coaching. He has extensive experience in facilitating trainings related to leadership and management, programme development, as well as social innovation. He is also a lecturer in Geography at Bonn University .

Trang Nguyen

Trang holds a degree in Social Sciences and has worked in different governmental as well as non-governmental organisations in Germany, Vietnam and India. She is a full-time staff at Civil Society Academy and her roles include marketing communication, IT, team and happiness as well as facilitation and coaching. Trang is a young, creative and forward-thinking person who loves to learn share and connect with like-minded people. 

Subhankar Chatterjee

Subhankar has 19 years of experience working in the development sector. He is in the lead for CSA in India. Prior to joining CSA he had worked with Welthungerhilfe, Tata Trust and PRADAN. Subhankar has extensive experience working with large scale programmes on livelihoods and skills development, food and nutrition security, and social entrepreneurship, and strengthening community institutions in South Asia.

Carina Juilfs

Carina has a professional background in international management and social entrepreneurship and has worked and lived in Uganda for more than 5 years. She has worked with international and national NGOs, foundations and social enterprises. At CSA, Carina works as Training Design Coordinator under the Scaling Initiative and is responsible for designing, testing and facilitating top-quality trainings, workshops and training tools.
