Essentially this tool is connecting people affected by the same issues globally to unite against injustice. It features a 'mapping' of the issues to visibilise the varying types of injustices happening around the world in order to connect those communities facing similar situations (i.e. a community impacted by land grabs that are carried out by the same company grabbing another community's land across the world - this is a natural alliance of people power!). What makes this tool very unique though is its real world application, which is not only about mapping, but is about action. Connecting communities is done using a community organising model, which positions those facing injustice to carve out and re-claim justice, by applying pressure to the appropriate authorities (i.e. TNC's and/or states). Communities share strategies and information regarding their issue. The tool also has a built-in mechanism for evaluation, to ensure that its use becomes more effective over time. In sum, it is about 1) mapping, 2) connecting, 3) community organising, and 4) tracking/evaluating. Looks great and like it will facilitate targeted strategic approaches to demanding rights-based approaches are upheld!
