For OAK Foundation

Background

The project titled “Empowering Civil Society for Social Change in Jharkhand” was initiated on 1st October 2018. Civil Society Academy (CSA) and Gender at Work (G@W) collaborated to support five organizations from Jharkhand – Ekjut, Ibtida, Maitri, JATN, and Samvad on organizational development and leadership. In the first phase, CSA and G@W had carried out a detailed needs assessment of their respective partners through workshops and deep-dive sessions. CSA has provided tailor-made support on leadership and organizational development to Ekjut and Maitri and also offered training on leadership and fundraising to the other partners Ibtida, JATN and Samvad in coordination with G@W.

Our Team

Subhankar Chatterjee

Subhankar has 19 years of experience working in the development sector. He is in the lead for CSA in India. Prior to joining CSA he had worked with Welthungerhilfe, Tata Trust and PRADAN. Subhankar has extensive experience working with large scale programmes on livelihoods and skills development, food and nutrition security, and social entrepreneurship, and strengthening community institutions in South Asia.

Rishi Meena

Rishi has been working in the sector for 9 years and has a sound experience building capacities of communities and working professionals. As a facilitator of CSA, he is facilitating the scaling up programs for Welthungerhilfe in India, Nepal, Bangladesh Uganda, and Malawi. He developed an e-learning platform in his previous experiences and has rich experience working on online tools and methodologies. Adapting in the fast-moving world is his key strength and he believes future-ready individuals can actually build future-ready CSOs.
