Course Description

The spread of Covid-19 has given most of us no other choice than working from home. In these challenging circumstances and with many technological developments, the entire scenario of training has changed. Virtual training and facilitation or online training have become the norm, with the availability of a variety of software options. Hence to continue with our capacity and talent development to inspire civil society actors to fulfill their vision and mission, we are offering this 4-day course on how to do virtual trainings.


This training is designed based on our own experiences of doing webinars, virtual teamwork and e-workshops. It is also relevant for those who want to do in-person trainings and workshops. We at CSA bridging the concepts of facilitation to use in the virtual world with added tools.


We are offering 3 interactive workshops:

A) 14 - 17 July 2020

B) 15 - 18 September 2020

C) 24 - 27  November 2020

Each interactive workshop has a total of 8 sessions spread over 4 consecutive days. Each session is for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

In addition, we are offering group mentoring for sessions that will be done after the workshop to sharpen the skills learned.

Sohini Paul

Sohini has been working in the development sector for more than two decades, mostly on capacity building and human rights in the South Asian context. As a facilitator and coach of Civil Society Academy, she has focused on providing trainings and workshops on leadership and team management in several countries across Asia and Africa. She also facilitates trainings on advocacy and rights-based approaches as well as designing effective programmes and projects. Sohini is passionate about civil society strengthening, which is reflected in her facilitation style. She will facilitate the training courses in South & South East Asia, as well as in Africa.

Rishi Meena

Rishi has been working in the sector for 9 years and has a sound experience building capacities of communities and working professionals. As a facilitator of CSA, he is facilitating the scaling up programs for Welthungerhilfe in India, Nepal, Bangladesh Uganda, and Malawi. He developed e learning platform in his previous experiences and have rich experience of working on online tools and methodologies. Adapting in the fast-moving world is his key strength and he believes future-ready individuals can actually build future-ready CSOs.
