Herbert Wolpert

Herbert has consulted for organizations of all sizes in industry, commerce, education and healthcare, both in Europe and Australasia. For more than 25 years, he has been leading organisations and leadership development programmes for senior management. Since 2011, he is consulting with Welthungerhilfe and the European Network Alliance 2015. Herbert facilitates our popular and powerful comprehensive course Leadership in Civil Society. His facilitation and coaching skills are unmatched!

Lioba Weingaertner

Lioba holds a diploma and doctorate in nutrition and has been working as an independent consultant, trainer, facilitator, and evaluator for German bilateral cooperation (BMZ, GIZ, KfW), non-governmental organizations (e.g. Welthungerhilfe, Misereor, Bread for the World / EED), the United Nations ( WEP, FAO), and the European Union for more than 30 years. Her thematic priorities include food and nutrition security, poverty reduction, MDGs / SDGs, Civil Society, just to name a few. Lioba facilitates effective our comprehensive course Programme Design.

Joachim Schwarz

Joachim is passionate about social justice and on a mission to support like-minded civil society actors and social entrepreneurs to become more powerful and innovative. Hence, in 2014 he left his NGO career to build the Civil Society Academy. He is an outstanding facilitator and coach with expertise in social innovation, leadership, organisational change and advocacy. After 20+ years in Africa and Asia, he is now based in Berlin. Joachim facilitates various courses and trainings: Leadership in Civil Society, Leadership and Team Management, Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Sohini Paul

Sohini has been working in the development sector for more than two decades, mostly on capacity building, governance, and human rights in the South Asian context. She now works full time for CSA. Her roles include facilitation, course coordination, outreach Asia, mentoring, and networking. Sohini facilitates various courses and trainings including Leadership in Civil SocietyLeadership and Team Management, Skills for Better Cooperation, and Rights-based Approach

Stefan Bannach

Stefan is a Bali based consultant, trainer, and coach with more than 10 years of experience in Germany, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. He has extensive experience in moderating and facilitating multi-stakeholder processes in a participative way, as well as setting up training modules in the fields of communication, team development, conflict management, participatory planning, and moderation. Stefan facilitates Leadership and Team Management, as well as Skills for Better Cooperation.

Claudia Zehl

Claudia has an academic background in intercultural conflict management and is a certified mediator. Since 2010, Claudia has worked in various positions for Johanniter International Assistance, both in humanitarian and development settings. Currently, she is running the office of Johanniter in Southeast Asia, supporting programmes in cooperation with Cambodian Civil Society Organisations on community health, WASH, and livelihood.

Claudia facilitates the focus training Skills for Better Cooperation.

Dirk Reber

Dirk is committed to the civil society sector more than 25 years. With his passion, positive energy, optimism, and autonomy, he likes to see people grow and find their true meaning of values. His international experience in different leadership positions throughout Asia and Africa qualifies him as facilitator, trainer and coach: preferably with you in one of the CSA courses, otherwise as an outdoor trainer. Dirk's center is his family and nature. He facilitates with full engagement the following courses and trainings: Leadership in Civil Society, Organisational Development, Leadership and Team Management, and Fundraising for Civil Society.

Sweta Banerjee

Sweta has been working in the public health and nutrition sector for the past 20 years and has extensive experience in working with the community. As a nutrition specialist at Welthungerhilfe India, she further provides need-based capacity building support to Welthungerhilfe´s projects in India, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

Sweta facilitates our comprehensive course Programme Design and the focus training Achieving Nutrition Outcomes.

Bunrithy Lav

Bunrithy has worked in the development sector with both national and international non-governmental organizations for almost 20 years. He joined the CSA team in 2015, first as a participant of the very first comprehensive course Leadership in Civil Society, then as a co-facilitator of the second course the year after. He has extensive experience in moderating and facilitating trainings and workshops, from the grassroots to the national level, and is now reaching out to the international arena.

Bunrithy facilitates our focus training Leadership and Team Management.

Marita Ishwaran

Marita has been working in the education and development sector for almost three decades and became a consultant in 2014. Her thematic priorities include community development, human rights and peace education, strategic planning and visioning, programme management, team and leadership building, and communication skills. Marita facilitates the focus training Leadership and Team Management.

Carina Juilfs

Carina has a professional background in international management and social entrepreneurship and has worked and lived in Uganda for more than 5 years. She has worked with international and national NGOs, foundations and social enterprises. At CSA, Carina works as Training Design Coordinator under the Scaling Initiative and is responsible for designing, testing and facilitating top-quality trainings, workshops and training tools. Moreover, she facilitates open trainings such as Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.


Petra Speier-Werner

Petra’s mission is to be a source of inspiration and love that holds a space for everyone to grow and flow. She has been working in different sectors in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Being an organizational psychologist, economist and political scientist with a doctorate in change management, her trainings, lectures, and coaching are nurtured with her interdisciplinary approach.  Petra facilitates our tailor-made trainings related to Multi-Actor-Partnerships (MAP). Moreover, she is a facilitator of the open trainings Leadership and Team Management, and Organisational Development.

Josantony Joseph

Josantony is Advisor (Maharashtra) to the Commissioner appointed by the Supreme Court of India on Food Security. He is on the Board of Creative Handicrafts, a Fair Trade organisation in India. Josantony was instrumental in setting up and conducting advocacy programs for the National Center for Advocacy Studies in India. He is an international resource person who has worked in Africa, the US, Canada and many countries in Europe and the Far East. 

Josantony is a facilitator of the focus training Rights-based Approach.

Tesfaye Yimer

Tesfaye holds a Doctor in Transformational Leadership/DTL in Entrepreneurial Organisational Transformation, MA in Organisational Leadership and BSc in Agricultural Economics. Previous to founding Sankofa Consultancy Service (SCS), he had worked with the government as well as NGOs in different leading positions. Tesfaye established SCS in 2014 and ever since he has been facilitating workshops and trainings on diverse topics such as change leadership, project cycle management, and organisational capacity assessment of CBOs. Tesfaye facilitates various trainings: Leadership and Team Management, Organisational Development.

Subhankar Chatterjee

Subhankar has 19 years of experience working in the development sector. He is in the lead for CSA in India. Prior to joining CSA he had worked with Welthungerhilfe, Tata Trust and PRADAN. Subhankar has extensive experience working with large scale programmes on livelihoods and skills development, food and nutrition security, and social entrepreneurship, and strengthening community institutions in South Asia. Subhankar is a facilitator of the focus trainings: Leadership and Team Management, Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Fundraising for Civil Society.

Trang Nguyen

Trang holds a degree in Social Sciences and has worked in different governmental as well as non-governmental organisations, including a research institute, in Germany, Vietnam, and India. She is a full-time staff at CSA and her roles include marketing communication, IT, team and happiness, as well as facilitation. Trang is a young, creative and forward-thinking person who loves to learn, share and connect with like-minded people. Trang facilitates various trainings including Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Skills for Better Cooperation, and Fundraising for Civil Society.

Rishi Meena

Rishi has been working in the sector for 9 years. He has sound experiences of building capacities of communities and working professionals.  Before CSA, he has worked with Freedom from Hunger and PRADAN. Rishi has good experiences in institution building of communities for livelihoods and allied activities and working on issues related to health and nutrition. As a facilitator of CSA, he facilitating the scaling up processes for Welthungerhilfe, Germany. Rishi has good experience in facilitating online workshops using various online tools and platforms. He has done engineering in biotechnology and passionate to bring change through his actions in the development sector.

Eaindray Soe

Eaindray has worked in various programmes on Children, Youth and Women Empowerment. At present, she is a facilitator in Capacity Building Initiative (CBI) in Myanmar. To date she has supported over sixty civil society organisations and thousands of individual staff through facilitation, organisational capacity assessment, strategic workshop planning, personal coaching and mentoring. Eaindray facilitates the focus training Leadership and Team Management.
