The course

In this training course you will learn about the approach of agile management. Through the integration of agile collaboration in your organization, you will be able to break down large and complex projects into manageable tasks. By using agile collaboration and respective self-organization methods, you and your organization will be ready to conquer the new work environments. The crisis around Covid-19 has shown us that it has been agile and flexible organisations that have created very effective, impactful and innovative outcomes.

This course will deepen your understanding of management, as agile management differs fundamentally from other management approaches. Agility is based on the image that sees the individual as the best expert for her-/himself, who acts on own responsibility and treats others with respect on an equal footing. This results in great trust in the self-organization power of the team.

This course is designed for self-aware, proficient and passionate managers and leaders of civil society organizations or social enterprises, who want to transform vision into products. The training is suitable for interested parties who have already practical experience with management and are open for new methodologies and approaches.

 

Each course includes 8 online sessions speading over 4 consecutive days. Each day includes two sessions. One session is of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration.

Meet the facilitators

Carina Juilfs

Facilitator of the Civil Society Academy

Carina is an agile social enterprise enthusiast and non-profit development professional with experience in stimulating, managing, and scaling innovative ideas into meaningful sustainable initiatives and businesses, mainly in East Africa. She has a professional background in international management (BBA) and social entrepreneurship (MBA) and has worked and lived in Uganda for more than 5 years.  

At CSA, Carina works as a Training Design Coordinator and Facilitator and is part of a global Scaling Initiative aimed at scaling highly impactful projects and programs from India to Nepal, Bangladesh, Uganda and Malawi through applying a human-centered design approach to co-create standardized tools and guides with development professionals and national civil society actors to advance evidence-based interventions and effective project implementation towards impact. Moreover, she facilitates online and offline trainings around topics such as Social Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Interactive Facilitation Skills.

Rishi Meena

Facilitator of the Civil Society Academy

Rishi has been working in the sector for 9 years and has sound experience building capacities of communities and working professionals. As a facilitator of CSA, he is facilitating the scaling up programs for Welthungerhilfe in India, Nepal, Bangladesh Uganda, and Malawi. He developed e-learning platform in his previous experiences and has rich experience of working on online tools and methodologies. Adapting in the fast-moving world is his key strength and he believes future-ready individuals can actually build future-ready CSOs.

For more than 2 years, Carina and Rishi have been part of an entirely remotely based team with members living and working across continents and time zones. They organize and implement all work processes using the scrum methodology and online applications such as miro, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and more for their day-to-day work. These tools help the team foster collaborations, celebrate birthdays, and facilitate interactive online workshops.
